The second edition of the Pain & Palliative Care Workshop for Ayurveda doctors was successfully conducted on 14 September 2025 at the Itoozhi Ayurveda campus, drawing enthusiastic participation from Ayurveda practitioners and students. Designed as a hands-on learning experience, the workshop focused on enhancing clinical understanding and practical skills in providing compassionate, holistic care to patients in pain and distress.

The scientific sessions explored vital topics including “Introduction to Wounds and Ulcers: Assessment and Management” and “Basics of Ulcer Debridement and Dressing”, giving participants clear, practical frameworks for wound evaluation and care within a palliative setting. The sessions also delved into “Treatment Protocols in Palliative Care”, highlighting integrative approaches rooted in Ayurvedic principles.

A major focus area of the 2nd edition of the Pain & Palliative Care workshop for Ayurveda doctors was the management of urinary system conditions and emergencies in palliative patients. The discussions and demonstrations on catheterization and catheter care provided essential insights into maintaining patient comfort and dignity while preventing complications.

Through live demonstrations, interactive discussions, and case-sharing, the workshop reaffirmed Itoozhi Illam Ayurveda Foundation’s commitment to empowering Ayurveda professionals to extend their healing practice beyond treatment — to service, empathy, and quality of life improvement for those in need.

The positive feedback and participation reflected the growing recognition of palliative care as an essential part of Ayurveda’s compassionate healing philosophy.
